Substitutes For Popular Gym Equipment
Home workouts have been the norm now for a couple of months and most of us have become acclimated to our new workout routines. The biggest challenge has been ordering equipment online since everyone is in the same boat, lots of popular gym equipment is on backorder.
I wanted to offer some substitutes for some common gym equipment you might find almost impossible to get a hold of on Amazon as of lately.
Dumbbells
If dumbbells are sold out, use these reusable grocery bags for added resistance during your workouts. You can load them up to any weight you want! Just make sure you weigh them out on your scale to make sure they weigh the same!
Check out some of these reusable grocery bags HERE.
Kettlebells
If kettlebells are sold out, use these gallon water bottles with handles. A gallon of water typically weighs around 8lbs. You can fill these up and use them for resistance during your workouts. You can even swing with them (just like kettlebell swings!) Just make sure the cap is tightly on them- you don’t want any spillage!
Find them on amazon HERE.
Resistance bands
If resistance bands are sold out, use these bodyweight suspension straps. You can hook them over any door and use your body weight as resistance. These are great for total body workouts because they are super versatile!

Ankle weights
If ankle weights are sold out, use these gliders! You can do SO MANY exercises by using just your body weight and an unstable base like a floor glider. The gliders will allow you to slide easily across any hard wooden floor or even on your carpets. You can use them to stand on and slide or by placing them under your hands for some core and arm challenges.

Jump ropes
If jump ropes are sold out, use this swinging skip ball! If you’re a 90’s baby then you should remember skip-it! The fun plastic swinging ball on a thin attachment you loop around one foot and skip over like a self-made game of double dutch. Time to take it back to your old school days and have some fun while getting into shape.

Boxing bags
If boxing bags are sold out, use this boxing ball! You can still get your heart rate up and practice your punches all while not even leaving your desk! This desktop punching bag is the perfect desk accessory to help vent out your frustrations and melt away anxiety.

Barbells
If barbells are sold out, use this collapsable resistance bar! You easily attach the cloth-covered resistance bands to the fold-up platform. The fold-up platform allows you to increase or decrease the exercise difficulty based on shortening or lengthening the bands. The best part? It takes up WAY less space than your traditional barbell.

Yoga blocks
If yoga blocks are sold out, use these perfect push-up handles! These handles are durable and have a cushioned foam grip which help to reduce strain on your wrists! They’ll also help you get into your poses safely and effectively due to their non slip base which prevents you from moving or collapsing during your practice.

As always, I’m here with any questions or concerns you might have.
Microdosing is taking sub-perceptual doses of psilocybin, you don’t hallucinate or “trip”.
Low-intensity exercise, like walking, yoga, activates your parasympathetic nervous system, or your “rest and digest” mode.
When you metabolism is not working, you get fatigue, cravings, hormonal chaos, and that “nothing’s working” feeling.
Most women come to me wanting to fix their metabolism. What they really need to fix is their nervous system.
Menopause marks the end of a hormonal cycle, not your capacity to feel strong and magnetic.
Most of what women in their 40s still believe about nutrition is leftover from the early 2000s — and your metabolism deserves an upgrade.
You don’t have to choose cardio or strength training, but you do need to know what each one actually does.
If used with intention (and ideally some guidance), alternative options, can help you feel more connected, clear, and calm.
Fat loss in your 40s has less to do with how sweaty you get and more to do with how smart your cardio is.
The last thing it needs is pressure to “snap back.” Here is what actually matters in those first few months.
Getting sunlight first thing in the morning is one of the most underrated health habits.
Your hormones are shifting, and your old “calories in, calories out” math just isn’t cutting it anymore.
If your lighting is out of sync your sleep, energy, mood, and even metabolism take a hit.
Your metabolism, hormones, and stress response have evolved. Your approach needs to too.
